The 2025 Sea Kittens feature more new faces than we’ve seen since the team re-emerged from underground in Spring 2021; there are many family faces back too, making an exciting mix for the 2025 campaign. Newcomers include David “The Ringer” Engeldinger, who was actually a full-timer in Fall 2024, Megan “Slam” Salm, John “The Sea Beast” Corrigan (as a rival league mate put it upon hearing his name, “dude’s a beast.” And now, he’s a Sea Beast!), and Braden “Gas” Furness, a wet-behind-the-ears rook who’s making his slowpitch debut. Longtimers Dan DynamOele and Stephen “Slash” Grutzik are expected to be making their reappearances with the Cats by late Summer.
After a surprising Spring League relegation, the Cats are once again playing in the Madison Sport & Social Club Thursday night upper division for Summer and facing a number of familiar foes, including Hot Pitches, Da Hittas, and Bat & Boujee. The 2024 squad captured the third league championship in franchise history, topping Hot Pitches 15-9 to win the Spring League title, but could not repeat the feat in Summer or Fall, dropping semifinal matchups in both seasons.
