Sea Kittens Celebrate Anniversary of Historic First Game

May 19, 2010, after being washed out in the first two scheduled games in team history, Sea Kittens trotted onto the field to tussle with Jackalopes in its first-ever MSCR league game. Founded on the principle that softball was going to be a lot easier on their knees than Ultimate Frisbee, co-managers Joe Hennessy and Erin O’Brien drummed up 15 other people to join them on the adventure.  Some had never played softball. Sea Kits Opening Day History Sea Kittens history is littered with lopsided wins and losses on Opening Day, including huge wins in the past two seasons.  Other highlights include the team’s thrilling 8-7 win in its first-ever game- the only Cats opener to be decided by fewer than 10 runs, and an extra inning affair in 2013- the infamous “Out at Third” game.  We won’t talk about how a team loses by 11 in extras…
