Harmony Sea Kittens (4-4) will be running out a 9-player lineup tonight against Kenosha League front-runner Silver Eagle (7-1) in a 6:30 PM matchup on Olbrich Park Diamond #3. The teams have traveled in different directions in recent weeks, as Los Gatitos have lost four of their past 5 five games while Silver Eagle has largely crushed opponents since their lone, season-opening loss— to Sea Kittens.
The game will mark the first time since August 29, 2012 that the Cats have not mustered at least 10 players for a game; the team is 2-3 all – time when playing with nine players, including a 16-1 win in the 2012 Buffalo League Championship game.
Joe Hennessy gets the start with Zen Master Rowe playing Professor Dumbledore at the Mallards game. Hennessy has been brutalized by the long ball in recent weeks; keys for the Cats will be whether he can limit walks and the defense can limit defensive miscues in advance of the inevitable jacks. Or hell, maybe man- Aaron Jossart will get the start and take a few lumps, and then give way to Hennessy… yeah, yeah!
On offense, the Cats hope the short lineup gets multiple players into solid hitting rhythm. A wildcard will be the debut of substitute Jenny Ploeger, whom the Cats claimed off the East HS email list.
