Recap
Two huge come-from-behind 1-run victories put an exclamation point on the Sea Kittens’ 7-3 inaugural campaign. Kittens shined from all corners of the diamonds. After falling behind 11-1 against Packers Inn, the Kittens settled down and started clawing their way back into the ballgame. Katherine Curtis punctuated a 4-run third with a bases loaded, bases clearing double, hustling to 3rd on the throw to the plate. She tied the game in the 4th with a two-out single, capping a 6-run rally after Nick Legler’s bases-clearing double, and knocked in the teams’ 15th, final, and win-clinching run in the 5th. The Sea Kittens strung together 5 consecutive two-out hits in the 5th. Holy cats! Besides KC’s 5 RBI, Nick Legler knocked in 4 and Joe Hennessy hit his 3rd inside-the-park HR in the past 2 weeks.
The Packers staged a last-inning rally, using a 3-run HR to cut their deficit to 15-14, by Kyle Magyera stopped them cold for the second time this season, this time with a sweet catch of a slicing line drive to end the ballgame.
