Kittens Split Pair of Wild Tourney Games

Sea Kittens fell short in their bid to capture an elusive Harmony Tournament title, finishing as runners-up in pool play and settling for a  super-fun day of Sunday softball and a pair of memorable games, without having to sweat through a third contest on a rather swampy afternoon.

The Cats opened 2018 play with a showdown against a big-swinging Harmony Royals squad.  The showdown ended up being the closest game of the 2018 coed tournament.  Sea Kittens never led, but battled until their final, unforgettable, bittersweet swings before falling 14-13. The Puma comes home as Roadrunner reaches second in the first inning of Sea Kittens’ win against Andrea’s Team. The run was the first of nine two-out ticks Sea Kittens would record in the game.

Game two- played only for pride as Royals had earlier clinched the Pool B title- saw Sea Kittens square off against Andrea Cummings’ 2018 Tourney squad.  Her teams had bounced the Cats in the 2016 & 2017 tournament finals.  After posting 3 runs in the top of the first, Sea Kittens were rocked for two touchdowns (and extra points) in the bottom of the inning, setting the stage for the biggest comeback in Sea Kitten history. Full Story, Game Notes, & Salmon Snacks
