Patronus: tbd, but based on performance, not a Sea Kitten

The Puma made a quiet Sea Kitten debut September 3, 2014, going 0-3 as a sub in a 9-6 win over the Caribou Bou Crew. He continued to be a regular sub for the next three seasons, compiling 10 appearances as his game ratcheted up each time, culminating with a gaudy 0.889 batting average and 0.900 on-base percentage in 10 plate appearances in summer 2017 that accelerated his present, lucrative long-term deal. His powerful, low-profile running is an asset in patrolling the outfield and wreaking havoc around the bases, occasionally striking a healthy amount of terror into slower runners ahead of him. It was one such pursuit- a walk-off inside-the-park home run September 6, 2017 that led to both his and Helen “Rabbit” Bradley’s monikers. That moment is Latzka’s favorite Sea Kitten memory to date, but others are sure to challenge. In his first full-time Sea Kitten season- Fall, 2017- P. Panthera latzka reached base 15 times and scored 13 runs.

In Summer, 2021, The Puma broke through and raced for 5 triples, breaking what had been one of the longest-standing Sea Kitten single-season records.

His favorite athlete is Thomas Edward Patrick Muthafuckin’ Brady Jr., but not that many people want to hear about that ’round these parts, and probably fewer than ever before.
