Zoe “Z-Force” Slattery made her Sea Kitten debut June 5, 2019 as a substitute free agent scouted and recruited by Man-Aaron Jossart. Z-Force made a splendid first impression, going 3-4 at the plate, scoring once, and driving home 2 runs. She also whistled her first throw from third to first directly at Mama Cat O’Brien’s shins, in splendid Sea Kitten style. Enthusiastic to the end of an utterly confounding loss, Slattery stepped comfortably into La culture du chaton marin, and her dad even came to the game, which was triply awesome. He was confounded by the absence of beer vendors, so we’ll try to remedy that next time.
