Silver Eagle Shreds Kittens

Sunshine Curtis chases after Man-Aaron Jossart.

Silver Eagle (8-1) avenged its lone loss of the 2019 MSCR Kenosha League season with an 18-3 disembowelment of Harmony Sea Kittens (4-5) July 31 at Olbrich Park.  The game was the third contest Sea Kittens lost by more than a touchdown in July. With the win, Silver Eagle clinched the league second-half title and the Kenosha League Championship for the second straight season, having won 18 of its past 19 games in summer play.

Despite the lopsided outcome, the game held drama for its for 20 minutes, as Man-Aaron Jossart- making just his second career start- held Silver Eagle to three runs through the first two innings.  Sea Kittens were unfortunately held scoreless through the same stretch, but when Sunshine Curtis singled and Dan DynamOele cracked his team-leading sixth home run in the 3rd, the Cats pulled within a run.

Silver Eagle responded by posting crooked numbers in every inning thereafter, aided and abetted by some inventive defensive plays by Los Gatitos del Mar, and squashed any hope the Harmony side had of sweeping the all-but-crowned Kenosha League champions.

Salmon Snacks

  • Jen for filling in and collecting two hits in her Sea Kittens debut
  • Aaron for making his second career start and keeping the Cats in it for a few innings.
  • Erin for doing splits to make a play at 1B.  She didn’t see that coming!
  • Dan & Jami for 3-hit games
  • Brad… just because on top of that game, he lost his glove afterwards.  But it’s been found. And has had a week to think about how it treated him last Wednesday…

Sea Kittens Great Fillet of the Game

  • In the 5th inning of this lopsided affair, Sea Kittens were still trying their best to get outs, and when Dan surprised Erin with a two-out throw to 1B, she made a lunging splitsy catch to get the out and the Cats back to bat.
  • In several innings, Brad fall down.  It’s a dramatic Sea Kitten thing to do.
