Cats Scamper Away from Renovations

Sea Kittens and Driftless Renovations locked in a tight struggle for five innings at Olbrich Park August 18 before the Cats separated with a 6-run two out rally in the top of the 6th and emerged with a decisive 14-5 victory.  The win was the fifth in a row and eighth of the year for Sea Kittens (8-1, 4-0 MSCR Kenosha League second half) and is the second-highest summer league win total in franchise history,

A wise man once said, “strikeouts are boring.  Besides that, they’re fascist.  Throw some ground balls- it’s more democratic.”  And so it also goes with home runs in slow-pitch softball.  Sure, the image of brutish Brutus lumbering to the plate with his lumber and launching a soft-tossed pitch into orbit is one image of the game, but is it really more interesting or appealing or exciting or fun than the magic of 10 rank amateurs

Another Bad Trip for Cats

For the second time in three weeks Pitches B Trippin (4-4 overall, 3-2 Kenosha League first half) thrashed Harmony Sea Kittens (4-4, 3-2), this time sailing away with a 21-11 win at Olbrich Park Wednesday night.  A win for Sea Kittens would have placed the team into the league championship game for the second consecutive year, but early offensive struggles coupled with some spacey defense left the Cats playing from behind from the start.  

Cats Smash Past Mashers

Try saying that four times fast. Harmony Sea Kittens moved to 3-0 for only the second time in franchise history with a tough 13-8 win over a young, talented Monona Mashers (0-3) squad. Los Gatitos slammed three home runs and had enough timely two-out hitting to overcome some defensive “excitement,” and remains the lone unbeaten team in MSCR Kenosha League play.
