Sea Kittens (1-1) squared off against Spring League Champions Da Hittas (2-0) Thursday July 3 at Bowman Park, and had any fans been in attendance they would’ve been treated to an entertaining 50 minutes of well-played, well-matched rec slowpitch softball.  Not your typical hitters’ affair, this one featured solid defense, squelched rallies, and just enough timely hitting to keep the game in the balance until the bottom of the 7th, when the champs rallied for

On this Day: June 30, 2010

On this date 11 years ago Sea Kittens notched its first walkoff win in team history, a dramatic and delightful 15-14 victory over Floyd & Donna’s Packer Inn. The Cats used 14 players in the game, hit three triples, blew a 13-7 lead, and won it when Boom Boom Magyera foiled an intentional walk and poked the game-winning hit to right field with two out in the bottom of the 5th. All four of the original Cats who are still with the team- O’Brien, Hennessy, Magyera, and Sunshine Curtis- were there that mild and memorable summer eve.
