Kits Split Doubleheader

Hot off the team’s big game 1 win, the Sea Kittens’  scoreless innings streak stretched into game 2 of the night, as Kornis and the D put up goose eggs in the game’s first 5 frames.  Unfortunately the Kits hits no longer found openings and Echo Tap held the Kittens scoreless as well.  A bang-bang play squelched a 2-outs Kittens rally in the bottom of the 5th, and the Tap opened scored in the top of the 6th, putting

Celebrating Erin O’Brien’s birthday, the Sea Kittens split a week two double-header, thumping Bare Tree Bears 26-3 before falling 7-3 to a very tough Echo Tap team.  Game 1 saw the Kits continue their week 1 hit parade, paced by sub Stephanie Jolitz in her Sea Kittens debut and punctuated by Kristen Johnson’s first career hit, a 2-out no-doubt-about-it RBI single in the bottom of the 1st.  Bear Tree answered the Kittens 6 first-inning runs

Roar of the Kittens!

It wasn’t the summer-league champion Bombers who trotted into the field against the Kittens Thursday night, but a different Bombers squad who were disarmed by a relentless Sea Kittens outfit.  The Bombers were fresh off a 5-4 win over Bare Tree Bears, but found themselves down to the underwater cats 3-0 after the first inning.  After exchanging 6-spots in the second, the Kits ambushed the Bombers and trotted off with a 30-7, 5-inning win.  Celebrating his recent 30th birthday

Kittens Overcome Jackalopes

The Kittens dug another hole at the beginning of game 2, slipping behind 6-1 after 2 innings, but an inside-the park HR by Tom “Tumbleweed” Cichosz- capped by a bloody, head-banging collision at the plate- ignited the Kits. The homer started a 5-run rally in the third, capped by Dan “The Hit Machine” Kennedy’s second double in as many at-bats. Kennedy finished the night 5-5 with a walk, 4 runs scored, and 2 RBI in
